Pastor Linda A Merritt
Bio
Born Linda Ann Matthews in Coweta County to the late J.C. Bolton and Louise E. Bennett on December 4, 1953. Linda Matthews married at age 17 to Steve Delester Phillips added to this union four children; Pastor Steven(Charlotte)Phillips, Marcember Phillips, Wanda(William) Dean and Cedrick Phillips. Linda Phillips surrendered to the call the Summer of 1973. She became a member of The Church of the Lord Jesus under the leadership of Pastor Willie T (Annie) Smith in Rockmart GA. She served as a Sunday School Secretary for several years. The church relocated to Carrollton GA and was renamed Bethlehem Temple where she was enrolled in leadership classes. As Sister Phillips remained humble; God began to exalt her.
God entrusted Sister Phillips with the Gift of Exhortation to set the atmosphere. She was given the title "Praise Leader" and Missionary; she also worked with the college ministry at West Georgia College; many were saved. God began to speak to her leader, Bishop Willie T. Smith and she was ordained as Evangelist Phillips. In the early 1980s, Pastor Willie T. Smith released her to start a work. She began to evangelize and God led her and Evangelist Adainna Gustov to Newnan GA to begin a work that became known as the "King's Mission". Under this mission, many was saved, delivered and set free of alcohol, drugs and many other spirits. Soon this ministry was moved to the streets of Carrollton Georgia.
On December 6, 1986; Evangelist Linda Phillips was joined in holy matrimony to Minister (Overseer Bishop Richard C. Merritt) along with her 4 children and his 2 children and we became a family. King's Mission was turned over to the leadership of Bishop Merritt where it was renamed as Freedom King Mission Ministries International located in Villa Rica Georgia; where healing, deliverance, miracles and love take place. They have now been happily married for 21 years and pastoring for 12 years.
